WhatsApp AI agents

Create AI agents that handle WhatsApp conversations automatically.

AI agents bring the same conversational intelligence as the voice assistant to WhatsApp: they understand messages in natural language, reply in your business's tone, and hand over to your team when a person is needed.

What an AI agent can do

  • Instant replies. The agent answers common questions immediately, at any time of day, without keeping the customer waiting.
  • Business knowledge. It draws on your business information to give accurate answers about hours, services, and availability.
  • Handover to the team. When the request needs a person, the conversation passes to your team with the full context already in the chat.

Photos, voice notes and documents

Customers can send photos, voice notes and documents on WhatsApp. The agent reads them and replies instead of staying silent: a voice note is transcribed, a photo is described and the text of a document is read, then the agent answers as it would to a written message, together with the caption if there is one. This works with the WhatsApp Business connection, not with the legacy WhatsApp one, and the agent cannot send media back.

Where to find it

Open WhatsApp → AI Agents from the side menu to create and manage your agents.

Agents and automations work together

Automations handle fixed rules (after-hours replies, routing); AI agents handle free-form conversations. An active WhatsApp number is required.
